ABOUT
About Stacy Boone Harrison
Offering Healing For The Heart, Mind, Body, And Soul
Throughout my life, I have always looked deeply at myself as well as those around me. While each of us will experience and witness suffering at some point, we are also equipped with a shining resilience and strength to endure hardship.
Leonard Cohen’s words hold special meaning to me because they offer us hope that healing is possible if only we let the light in. I’m forever grateful to those who have helped me heal and connect to my wholeness during my life journey. As your therapist, I feel honored to pass on this life-affirming gift to you.
My Practice
I have always been fascinated with the intersection of science, medicine, psychology, spirituality, and art. Focusing on these disciplines over my lifetime has inspired me to bring each of these vital elements into my therapeutic practice. By offering a holistic, integrated approach to therapy, I offer my clients full-spectrum mental health care that addresses all aspects of their experience.
I provide state-of-the-art therapy modalities that acknowledge and cultivate the amazing resilience and strengths we each innately possess. Through extensive experience working in corporate settings, healthcare, and as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have honed my craft. My gentle, empathic, and open style brings wisdom, grace, and humor into the room.
Because of my real-world work experience, I can customize therapy for professionals, such as physicians, medical professionals, corporate executives, business owners, as well as fellow therapists. Having enjoyed years of my life navigating loving relationships, I am uniquely qualified in all forms of couples and family counseling, including pre-marital, pre-life partnering, marriage, discernment and divorce, as well as therapy for parents in all phases of life.
My rigorous training at Northwestern University as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor exposed me to an array of evidence-based modalities. I draw from neuroscience-informed Psychodynamic therapy models including Polyvagal and Attachment Theory, and Somatic Therapies. I'm experienced in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Existential, Experiential, Spiritual, and Art Therapy. Whatever path we decide to take, the ultimate goal will be to soothe the nervous system and create a wholeness of mind, heart, body, and soul.
Meaningful, Hopeful, Holistic, And Supportive Therapy
I believe we fully flourish and grow when we find meaning and connection with ourselves, others, and the world. Being encouraged to embark on the deep inner work of self-discovery can be transformative and forever life changing. I offer compassionate therapy and walk beside my clients as they discover their inner strength, ability to heal, and capacity for wellness. I work collaboratively with clients to shape a therapeutic experience for their specific needs. My role is to help them become the ‘expert’ so they can continue to grow and heal beyond our time together.
At by the willow, we believe that it takes a village to heal and grow. As a part of that village, I am dedicated to providing clients with a safe and engaging environment in which healing can best occur. My practice is infused with an eclectic approach that incorporates a fresh view of mental health and what holistic wellness asks of each of us, both individually and collectively.
I am a creative, optimistic, warm, and intuitive human, and bring these qualities into the therapy room. By embracing life fully, I strive to bring grace and joy to every person I meet and hold hope for others when they cannot hold it for themselves. I love helping my clients reconnect to their true authenticity and find wholeness, meaning, and alignment in their lives.
A Little More About Me
During my moments of leisure, I love spending time in nature and enjoy mountain hikes, shelling on the beach, sunshine, flowers, and a good book. I like to work in my 'urban' gardens and art studio, experiment with fly fishing, and play chef cooking for friends and family.
